Our Approach to Christian Counseling
We believe that therapy need to be more than just clinical. True Christian therapy upholds biblical integrity including traditional views on marriage, gender and sexuality. We yield to our Bible based values, allowing these components to impact every aspect of the practice so that clients can move forward with clarity, conviction, and confidence.

Move forward with
Clarity, Conviction & Confidence
Hi there, my name is Jordi and I am the owner of The Cross Counseling. My hope is that you find my practice to be a safe and practical place to explore your past and process your future. I have obtained professional licensure in the state of Michigan to provide clinical mental health services informed by evidence based and empirically supported data to ensure that the services you receive are ideal for optimal growth and human development.
My work is uniquely informed first and foremost by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truths found in His word. I believe whole heartily that true healing and wholeness is not found within the counseling session, but in the presence of the Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is my honor to point you firstly toward Him, while using evidence-based tools and strategies to assist in the treatment planning process. In this way my clients experience true healing and hope that last well beyond their time in counseling.

Grounded In Truth,
Yet Grace Filled By Nature
The Cross Counseling was built out of the desire to see an expansive network of professional, clinical mental health providers that engaged God’s word, by incorporating Biblical truths and principles into the therapeutic process. For those with big hurts and big pain we want nothing short of an almighty, omniscient, and omnipresent God deeply engaging with every part of our healing journey. To engage in a healing process void of the Healer seemed antithetical to such a serious undertaking. The strategy behind The Cross Counseling is to operate out of the intersection found between best practice and Biblical truth. The commitment to Biblical Truth birthed from the belief that engaging God's Word truthfully is the most loving and restorative attempt for healing and wholeness on this side of eternity. However, any truth that heals is God’s truth and can be found in an array of counseling interventions, empirically supported data, and clinical expertise. These strategic elements have been designed with great intention and make up the defining identity characteristics that set us apart from other agencies on the market.
More Than Symptom Management
Operating from an eclectic framework of counseling interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, reality therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and family systems therapy. I view each client as complex, unique, and autonomous. As a therapist, I strive to journey with you in your story, support you in who you hope to be, and assist you in achieving your personal goals. I view people as biological, social, emotional, and spiritual beings. This means that I often will challenge you to consider a holistic approach as you explore how your thoughts and feelings might contribute to your daily interactions, behaviors, and vice versa. Together we navigate through your story, and explore the feelings tied to critical events that you have experienced along the way. I promise there will be no lengthy pity parties however, I believe that often in order to move forward, we need to look back and explore our stories. We might also need to pay special attention to the present relationships, exploring current thoughts and behaviors. The ways we think and behave are oftentimes a window into an opportunity to heal.
