Our Specialties
The Cross Counseling offers an eclectic approach to therapy drawing upon various aspects of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic methods to create a custom-made approach unique to each client. Together we will work to create a treatment plan that encompasses different techniques to best address your particular problems and achieve your therapy goals.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps individuals separate themselves from their problems and view their lives as stories. It emphasizes the client’s capacity for resilience and empowerment by exploring alternative narratives and focusing on strengths and values.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a goal-oriented, short-term therapy approach that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, teaching clients to challenge and reframe unhelpful beliefs to improve emotional regulation and develop coping strategies.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is based on the idea that the mind is made up of multiple sub-personalities or "parts," each with its own distinct emotions, behaviors, and beliefs. These parts are seen as forming a family within the individual's internal world, with each part playing a specific role to protect the individual's core self. The ultimate goal of IFS is to help clients achieve harmony within their internal system and facilitate healing and personal growth.
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt therapy is an experiential and holistic approach that emphasizes personal responsibility and awareness of the present moment. It focuses on the individual's experience in the here and now, encouraging them to explore their thoughts, feelings, and actions to gain self-awareness and resolve unfinished business.
